Dear Families,
What an incredible few weeks we've had! Our cross country team brought home another district championship—the girls dominated once again! Our talented band filled Papa's Pizza with wonderful music, our mentorship program continues to expand and thrive, and Spirit Week brought amazing energy to our hallways. Students have explored learning beyond our walls through field trips, and our journalism class keeps delivering an outstanding newsletter. There's so much happening, and I'm proud of everything our students accomplish.
I'm thrilled to welcome three new members to our school family. Marla Pasterick joins us as our ELA and electives teacher, Jill Lowe steps in as our new Lead Custodian, and Howard Kaplan is our BEST site coordinator. Please join me in welcoming them!
As we move through November, I want to highlight a few important items:
- Conferences are coming up on November 24 and 25. We'll send more details soon, and we truly hope to see you there. These conversations matter.
- Our BEST afterschool program launches in December! Encourage your child to sign up and participate—it's a great opportunity.
- A reminder about Ebikes: They're not allowed on sidewalks, and riders must be 16 years old. Please check in with your child if this applies to them. On a related note, we recently had a bike stolen from campus. If your child rides to school, please ensure they have a quality lock.
- Grades and assignments: Take a moment to check in with your child about their progress. If they're behind, let's make a plan together to get caught up. We're here to support them—just reach out.
One more thing: Our school is a community, and communities show up for each other. If your family needs anything—whether it's a conversation, a connection to resources, or simply knowing someone cares—we're here. Your child's success is our priority, and we know that means supporting the whole family. Please reach out anytime. We mean it.
With gratitude,
Dr. G
